November Walk-On Day
So me and a couple other guys were thinking about the last walk-on day of the year at Ambush and we came up with an idea to make it a little more interesting. Since it will be an airsoft only day and if its like last year we'll have a ton of people, what if we split up into 4 teams? Then we could have two semi smaller games going on at once and kind of make it like a tournament. All the teams play the same games at some point in time during the day and the two teams with the most wins can square off at the end of the day and the two lower teams go at it. Or the team with the most wins combines with the team with the least wins to take on the other to in a BIG finale. Just throwing it out their, let me know what you think.
November will be our first walk-on day for Airsoft only. We'll have the entire facility to ourselves. We'll be able have two large teams battling over all of Ambush's acres.
Regarding your idea, having two sets of games going at the same time would require extra refs, props, etc. That's not something I'm interested in running.
If you interested in having a tournament, I'd suggest making it on a private day and invite some of the teams that frequent the walk-on days.
I'm not quite understanding the requirement of extra refs and props. On a normal walk-on day lately I've seen as many as eight refs at Ambush, and personally I think two per game is plenty. As the props go I see no need for extras if you play two completely different games on different fields(i.e. storm the castle= no pros, and Normandy= dynamite).
And I have no problem with two large teams on fields like the Castle or Big Woods, but on say the Trailer field 50 guys on each side makes it slightly cramped.
But these are just my ideas/suggestions, and since no-one else has commented I'm gunna guess no-one else likes the idea and I'll just let it go.

I agree that it can get crowded when we start getting over 60-70 players. I would love to see groups split up and play separate games in those instances. But it does require more resources to run multiple games. And while I'd like to be able to split into smaller games, I certainly don't want to be the one responsible for coordinating two distinct groups of airsofters. The airsoft only days (such as the big ops) are much easier since we can have 100+ players in a single game. We can all play together without tripping over each other and we don't have to worry about things like who likes playing around the buildings vs who likes playing in the woods.
I have no problem helping out in the coordinating of the games if that is the main issue.
Write out specific game objectives and what fields the games would be played and how a win is determined. Let's take a look at it.
Keep in mind, when creating airsoft "competitions" cheating runs rampant. The "competitions" I've run were not head to head. They are based on skills and teamwork using targets, not other airsofters. It needs to be different than playing a paintball tournament. If it isn't then why play airsoft?
