Safety Briefing
Safety Briefing as of March 6th, 2011
Treat every gun as if it is loaded. Never point a gun at something you don’t intend to destroy. Keep your gun’s safety on, magazines out, and barrel sock on. Keep your finger off the trigger. Guns may be fired only in the playing area or at the chronograph station. When firing your gun you must have your eyes on target. Do not blind fire.
All guns must be chronographed at 400 fps or less with .20 bbs, except for bolt action sniper rifles, which must be chronographed at 500 fps or less with .20 bbs.
Ammunition capacity is restricted to 2 high caps or 10 mid caps per player. One player per team may use a box mag or carry up to 4 high caps. Biodegradable bbs only. If your renting a gun you must use bbs sold by Ambush.
A bb shot from friend or foe that touches you or your gear counts as a hit. Ricochets do not count. Shots through brush do count. A shot to the head or torso is a kill, a shot to limbs render them useless. Multiple shots to any limbs count as a kill. Use short bursts of fire in order to give players a chance to call themselves out. If you are 100% sure you eliminated a player and he/she is not calling their hits tell the ref immediately after the game is over. Do not call an opposing player out. Do let a team mate know if they have been hit. Play with integrity and call yourself out when applicable. When “out” immediately yell “out”, raise your hands and/or gun and go to the designated spawn point. Dead men do not talk.
Grenades, rubber knives, or foam weapons must be approved by Ambush staff before being used.
Grenades may only be used inside structures. A player using a grenade must drop it inside a room while shouting “grenade”. When the grenade lands, all players in the room are eliminated.
Knife, axe, and touch, kills are performed by gently touching a player and announcing “knife”, “axe”, or “touch”, kill. A “bang” kill is performed by yelling “bang” when an individual player is unaware of your presence and within the MED.
The MED is 25 feet, with the following exceptions: 1) The MED for bolt action sniper rifles is 100 feet. 2) A player who does not comply with a bang, touch, or knife kill may be shot within the MED.
A sniper must carry a side arm that shoots 400 fps or less with .20 bbs. Players may not enter any building while carrying a bolt action sniper rifle.
If you suddenly come face to face with an enemy you must call parlay and disengage.
Players should make every effort to adhere to the MED while inside structures. However, given the fast pace and dynamic nature of CQB, we acknowledge it may not always be possible to do so. Players who enter any structure must accept the risk of being shot at close range.
If you have been shot within the MED in violation of these rules, alert a ref immediately after the game is over.
A paintball mask must be worn before entering the playing area. Your guns must remain on safe, magazine out, and barrel sock on until the ref blows the first "ready" whistle. At the first whistle, ready your guns. Game starts at the second whistle. When the command “game over” is given, repeat the command “game over”, remove your gun’s magazines, fire once on semi, switch to safe, and put on the gun’s barrel sock. Your paintball mask must remain on until you have exited the playing area.
Anyone disobeying the rules will be directed by the ref to return to the staging area.
